Default Working on a Budget my thread is non tech

I have a 94 Mustang GT that is almost entirely original except for wheels/tires and a CAI kit. I'd like to get a little more performance and responsiveness on a $1000 budget. Where is my money best spent - ignition, throttle body, headers, cat-back, or something else?
Thanks for your thoughts.

1. Gears
2. Exhaust. Go longtubes
3.short-shifter

that should eat up your grand pretty quickly
do some searching. theres lots of info on the net on which parts get you the most gains.

Gears, full exhaust, and underdrive pulleys. Longtube headers do perform but can be a pain in the butt to install and cause problems when doing trans work and replacing the starter so shortys would be a better idea. To save a little money on the exhaust just order the mufflers and flowtubes and dump them seperate instead of buying a whole catback kit. The tips in the kit are nice but if you are on that much of a budget money is spent in better places.
