Sorry man,I should have quoted AYEHO5.0 when I posted those numbers,so it would have been clear the specs were meant for 86-95 5.0 Mustangs.The picture & the signature,in the very first post,wasnt showing up for some reason when I typed my first post,
so I was assuming he had a 86-95 5.0 model seeings how he was posting in the 79-95 section.His signature lists a 89 & 02 model,so I guess its a 02 model
he was wanting specs for,not a 95??
When I typed this post,I happened to look closer at the very first post and realized it was posted way back in 2009.He definitely has the car up and running by this time.

36-47 ftlbs." is not for a 2011 v6 3.7 mustang. Do you know the numbers for a 3.7 v6 mustang?

Yeah I apologize for the confusion.Totally erase the values I listed from your mind because they're the values for 86-95 models.Im still searching the net to try and locate the correct torque values for your year/engine model.The values another poster listed,that you quoted above,may be the correct values?? If they are,just torque each wp bolt to 89inlbs + a 45° turn (As soon as the torque wrench clicks,which indicates the bolt is at 89inlbs,rotate the torque wrench another 45°) If you had the torque wrench handle pointed at the 12 o'clock position and you rotated it CW one complete revolution back to the 12 o'clock position,that would = 360°.If you rotated it from the 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock position,that would = 90°.So once the torque wrench clicks,rotate it 45°.It would help if the poster,that listed the values you quoted above,would add a picture/diagram showing the water pump & tstat housing bolt tightening sequence too,since he listed the order in which the bolts are tightened in,but not a picture showing which bolt is #1, #2, #3, etc,etc.
If I locate more info,I'll post it shortly.
Im also gonna add an edit to my earlier post to prevent any confusion to others that may read this thread in the future.

If your Mustang is/is not under warranty and you haven't had it done yet,theres a coolant hose thats supposed to be replaced,which falls under a TSB.The updated hose has a check valve in it,which is supposed to prevent the water pump from developing a leak for reasons other than high mileage/age/ mechanical pump failure.So check this hose on your car and if its missing the check valve,see if Ford will replace it for free under the TSB and if not,buy one and replace it yourself.I don't know if the hose without the check valve causes an issue with the pump or if it just forces a coolant leak from a gasket.A illustration

Do you guys use RTV on the gasket or not? I've seen both suggested.

Not on those rubber gaskets.

But this is the 5.0 section, so getting back to that, I feel the need to clarify that I do like to put a thin coat of RTV on the 5.0's water pump gasket. Technically, you're not supposed to need it, but we don't always have perfect mating surfaces to work with, so using a little RTV helps put my mind at ease. Just a thin coat, though. Not a bead. I do the same with the timing cover gasket.
