Would you elaborate on how this was done?

i bolted the rails down to the floor and measured the distance between all 4 holes.
it did not align to the 4 bolt locations on the seat...
I placed my seat on top of the rails and got it positioned where i wanted it.
I used a grease marker (white) to mark where my rails were on the seat itself.
I then looked at the structure on the bottom of the seat and saw two horizontal bars that ran across front and back.
I lined up the rails with the marks I made.
I drew two lines on each slider where the horizontal bars crossed under them.
I drilled two holes in each slider (between the lines)
i put the rails on the seat and marked the hole locations on the seat itself.
I drilled more holes. put bolts and nuts through the holes.
i then bolted the seats into my car.

did I elaborate enough for you?

The wierd thing is, that's the exact same procedure my father told me to do.

Guess I better get out my drill.
