Default Damage Pinch weld?

I noticed on the passenger side the fender was slightly out. So I l@@ked underneath the car in that area I saw the pinch weld was damaged a ten inch section almost flat! So I repaired the pinch weld and reajusted the fender (turned out good) There's alot of mechanics out there that just don't care and always in a rush! I wander how many people don't realize this happens because they never l@@k under there car?The lady I bought this car from is a good example.......

I read a post where an owner of an 07 $Saleen Mustang$ brought his car in for warranty service at a Ford dealer and they tore into the Pinch welds...bent everything up. He posted the pictures etc. I was amazed. He had to sue the Dealer and won over $3K in damage to repair the chassis rails. The Dealer claimed in court, that the damage is inevitable whenever lifting any car. But the mustang owner won the case. Anybody else have this problem happen to them or damage like this?

Yup, it happens. And it's true, sometimes there is no other place to put the lift arms. That is a manufacturers defect. Not the fault of the tech trying to lift the car. The pinch welds should be strong enough to support the weight of the vehicle. In some cases they're not.

I hear that. Every time a Mustang come into our shop (honda dealer) they all want to lift them there and I tell them dont and then show them where to lift them.

On the s197's the only place to put them is the pinch weld. Unless im missing something. Ive only lifted two of them.

This is way too common, even now in 2017. These Discount tire places with cheap untrained employees are wrecking out cars.
