yea i dont really like loud cars but just love a very sexy sound like my other stang had. i guess the pushrod and ohc motor sound totally different? luckily, my car isnt a dd

I dd'ed mine all summer sounding like this, it was pretty damn loud too. But now that I will have a aggressive head and cam combo, ive heard it will be much louder.

The volume didn't change when i put on the shorties, but it had more "rumble" to it.

What are you going to do. I think shorty headers are a waste of money not much better than the stock ones for what you pay for them?Live and learn been down that road.......Like you said not much different in sound

lol... true but dont you have to be careful with cutouts being that it dont make it much different than running open headers???

I did a similar setup and my car was twice as loud as it was. Almost too much in town, But it felt slower and had a lack of power. I feel your pain

i noticed a decent change on the ol' "butt" dyno (mid range and top end), and on my dyno sheet the upper RPM power had noticeably picked up a lot more. (even on E7 heads)
