so my question is this. im picking up an 88 gt on thursday.... where can i get a wider rim in a 4 lug pattern that i can run? and what is the off set of the rims?

well, there are a lot of sites that sell the 4 lug rim, american muscle, latemodelrestoration, summit... also, most guys get the weld series of rims, the offer the 15x8s and they are light weight, other styles/brands include the ford reproduction rims, like the pony rims or cobras. you can get an 03 cobra rim that is a 4 lug from american muscle... the backspacing on the stock rim is 5" and 5.5" is pushing it pretty close to the quad shock, so the necessity of removing it will depend on what ize tire you go with... do some research to get an idea of what brand/size rim you are wanting and then find out the backspacing
