It wasn't detonatoin...
It was a piston. When I joined the this site, I made a thread about hearing detonation with my fmu. The car ran lean from the fmu not working correctly. I had been hearing what I thought was a header leak or egr tube leak. Well, the piston showed itself last night and now makes an awful noise. Car still runs though and isn't smoking or anything.
So now, I am at a crossroads on what to do.
1 option is rebuild the motor and put it back completely stock since it is a feature car.
Another would be, buy a shortblock or replace the bad piston and keep the blower.
Or sell the blower and my other transmission and build a longblock.
What should I do? I am thinking, replace the piston would be the cheapest route and keep the blower.

the fmu I bought would not work with the lines hooker up correctly. It wouldn't raise the fuel pressure. It cut out on the first test drive and popped in the engine.
I parked it and got the injectors and the tune. I had been hearing a ticking noise that sounded like a header leak. A tick noise.
Well, I got my car to run cool finally and now it sounds like this after a night of hammering on it like I did last night.

sucks...my friend wants me to sell it and build a 347...I kinda would like to keep the supercharger since the thing only has 5000 miles on it...if I ever build another I may not find one for 1500 in that shape...then again, I could always build a 302 now with heads and add a turbo later

thanks, that I could manage. I found one on there built by panhandle performance with a new standard bore block, probe pistons and forged rods for 1200 that is a hundred miles from here. I just couldn't pull the trigger on selling the tremec for it. I think I will just let the car sit for the winter under the garage and save up the money for a good deal. One reason I would rather fix it now is, I am laid off and have all the time in the world to do it. Guess I will just help my friend get his going for now. He actually has the money to put in one after being laid off.
