You would be buying a new rotating assembly which means new pistons that should clear no problem

ther site says 86 5.0 has to notch pistons but didnt they chang pistons in 5.0 engines?

see im confused if i were to buy the 347 short block ... to me its a start to a strong powerful motor...because then i will do h/c/i and hopefully hit my mark
or i can do h/c/i on current engine and get short block later?
(which seems like it would be more work)
what if i do a budget 347 what do you/everyone else think?
example:
gt40p heads(may go gt40x if i fell like it )
standard hp cam thats 50 state legal $200-$300 unless theres a cheaper way
and gt40 upper and lower .or a trickflow or edelbrock ..sumthing along those lines
