how reliable are the sn95 mustangs?

Like everyone has said, the 302 in a fox/SN95 is a champ. Cheap parts, reliable, and moderate power stock. As far as SN95 specifics, Id sell my fox for a clean, low mileage SN. They are just really nice cars. Good luck

Agreed with Onyx. The motor's themselves are reliable units. It's all the electrical gremlins that can get annoying. Usually, the front and rear main seal can be leaky. Harmonic Balancer's rarely last 100,000 miles. And the Hall Effects sensor in the Dizzy and TFI module can be nuances as the miles pile on. But overall, they're good cars with good low end torque. They're fun but not that quick stock. But that's why they have the aftermarket....

My GTS has a jagillion miles on it with no major problems. I use Mobil 1, and it runs fine. I'm restoring it because it's the last 5 oh and I friggin love it! Especially the exhaust sound and the body lines. All it needs is a pair of 1 1/2" wheel spacers on the back since Henry's engineers left the axle too short. Rob @ eightdogsbarkin@gmail.com

I love my 302 sn95. I bought it because I, myself can do or figure out a lot of the work. I also love the body style of the sn over the fox (no offense fox guys, I like them too). It has 128k on it now and she still runs awesome. I run Valvoline Synpower and change it 3k miles on the dot.
Like others said, they aren't fast stock. They make nice torque but lack the top end power. The newer mod motors are pretty easy to make more power. It's just a matter or s/c'ing them. The 302 takes a little more work. But the parts are cheap and a lot of options are out there. Plus they are fun to work on, and relitivley simple compared to newer motors.
Overall, I love the 302. And although not as fast as a lot of cars, its still a lot of fun... It will still spin in circles on dry pavement

i ended up getting a rear main from Fel Pro that was teflon coated and worked AWESOME, but i NEVER got the squeaky TOB figured out. i put a new one in when i swapped my first T5, and it was quiet for about 2 weeks then it reared its ugly head again... FTL
