I used a DA sander with 220 grit and sanded all the texture off my dash and console and hand sanded what I couldnt get then when over it with 320 then primed it and basecoat clear coated it the same color as my exterior which is black but i would go with black for yours as well and I did some silver. I also bought a plastic cover for the arm rest and molded it and painted it for a clean look
