Default A respectable street 302

My 351w project is out the door. Too damn expensive. Wanted to know what ill be putting down at the wheels (hp) with a set up like this:

Either AFR 165cc or 185cc heads for a stock bottom 302. let me know if the 185's are too big for a stock 302 bottom end.

The above choice of heads with a gt40 lower and cobra upper.

Compcams xe274hr.

Long tube headers/xpipe/and CAI

go ahead and get the 185s

you will probably need a cam made to cover the valve clearance or notch the pistons or just get a twisted wedge head

Yeah the 185s should be fine as long as the pistons are notched for the larger valves or the custom cam like said above. You may want a larger intake manifold for those heads though but I'm not positive.

I realy dont want to notch the pistons. So TFS Twisted Wedge 170cc fast as cast heads need no modification with the stock pistons right?

If so, I might as well match the heads with a TFS track heat intake manifold and a TFS cam.

Which TFS cam would be good for a street only car. I dont go to the race track, I just want a dependable street machine with *****.

well the AFR 165 heads are a bolt on head also and they usually make more power than the Twisted Wedge heads from what I've seen on the forums. The Trickflow top end kit is good but it seems like it should make more power sometimes.

A TFS-1 cam would work well for your application. A Steeda #19 may also work well too.

You should just get the trickflow track heat top end kit, it will save you money and you get alot for the money.
