I don't own it anymore but I love to tell the storey.
Bought a rusted out 88 with 280,000kms. It was worn, burning 1L of oil every 1000km but it was a damn strong stocker.
Not a stocker like I have now which is stock internally with gear, bolt ons, e fan etc. The 88 5 speed LX hatch was stock paper air filter, 3.08 gear, air silencer, stock exhaust and it trapped 99mph. 13.9 on a 225 60 15 all season.
Mine's got over 165K miles on it. Runs very strong, burns about 1 qt every 1000 miles. Still got the untouched T-5 in it that has only had one fluid change to synthetic many moons ago.
I see oil burning is common! I wouldnt expect anything else from cars with such high miles..I do like seeing 00000.0 again, in my head I can pretend I drive a brand new 5.0 Mustang
