5 Lug ? Mark VII Rotors

I know the wheel selection is limited due to the dust cap on the spindle BUT for those who have done the swap with just Mark VII rotors.

Is it JUST the cap that is in the way or is it the whole area that the cap goes into that keeps from being able to run the center caps on most wheels? I am seriously thinking of doing a 5 lug swap when I get home. I can already get ALL the parts I need for $100 from the junk yard but cheaper is always better lol.

not just the cap its the whole hub, and you can get svo rotors from the parts store that work

You know, I havn't read about using them and I am surprised I didn't think about that lol.

Advance has them for $63 a piece online though so the junk yard route for SN stuff is still cheaper. Thanks for the info PRIME

junkyard and brake rotors just doesn't jive with me, but hey its your car!

projectresto83 12-23-2009 11:41 PM

I know, I am still contemplating it all. Brakes are not a place to get from the JY but I don't think rotors and calipers would be much of a problem....

well I think of it like this, chances are the brake rotors are outside therefore they might have rust on them. So you'll need to turn them and clean them up what if there out of spec and nobody will turn them?

motorman524 12-24-2009 12:02 AM

You can usually turn a rotor twice before it needs to be replaced. I guess it really depends on how much rust is on them if you were to buy them used. By using the rotors on a couple of stops you will get the rust off and I dont think he would be denied a turn, they just wouldnt come out right if they were bad.

Prime, the lincoln and SVO rotors are the same. They carry the same part number from Advance so thats out the window.

What's different about the svo hub area over the lincolns?

nothing I worded what I meant all wrong, I meant it like instead of trying to junkyard the rotors you can get svo ones from the parts store. As im sure you could get lincoln ones too.. I don't know what I was thinking
