Default Anyone Install A UPR Motor Plate??

Hey,
I didn't get any instructions to install the UPR Motor plate on my Windsor block. It appears that the plate mounts in between the block and the timing cover, correct? So my question is, does the timing cover have to be machined to properly seal the front of the oil pan to the cover. I'm wanting to install the motor plate tabs today, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
JV

i think you put the timing cover on first then the motor plate. Most plates go between the timing cover and water pump. I think you will need an electric pump with a block off plate depending on your timing cover. UPR is great because they have someone working all the time and can help you. If you leave a message they have called me back before if you dont get anyone.

Thanks, i was sure all motor plates installed behind the water pump, none of the holes lined up with the timing cover but they did with the block. I have a call into Jeremy down at UPR.. Thanks for the pics. I'll post pics of my project car soon.

Thanks Again. JV

Default UPR Motor Plate

FYI,
The UPR motor plate does mount between the water pump and timing cover. It truely is a bolt in piece with no mods to the stock timing cover on the late model 5.0.. What baffeled me on the motor plate was the two holes on the top of the motor plate. (They are not used with the stock timing cover).. However if one has the need for the Gilmer timing belt drive, then they will be used in the cover for that system..

I will post picks of the car after i finish painting the chassis and engine bay..

it keeps the engine from moving at all. supposedly you can use them as another band aid piece to help a stock block live longer with some rpms
