i just had my block bored .30 over had it boiled etc had the crank turned .10 that was $100 alone had the rods checked and resized if needed and had them install my cam bearings and freeze plugs im picking it up in the next couple days I know it will be atleast $400 ill let you know

i never claimed to be a master mechanic. i asked more or less to make sure i wasnt getting ripped off. i like to make sure my money can get me as far as it can. it 700 bucks without any bearings or anything is right for just machining the block is right then i'll delete my own thread.

I think you should call around and see what other shops charge. Once you have done that pick your poison.

when all said and done it was gonna cost me close to 1400 to redo a motor for my 89 so I got on the corral and found a my loos it your gain deal and picked up a rebuilt 306 with 2k miles on it for 650.00, best buy yet!!!
