Default Which timing chain and gear??

I'm going to install a new cam in my 87 gt. I 've done the usual upgrades heads intake exhaust .My question is,Summitt Racing has theSummitt for 38.00 Ford at 63.00 , Comp Cams 35.00 just to name a few or is there much difference?

depends, some were for one piece ecentrics or two piece and some have advance/ retard options, if all your doing is installing cam dot to dot, just get a oem replacement

Yeah. Still verify cam timing though, the dots don't always get put in the correct location.

I used a Cloyes Double roller set from Autozone. It was around $30.

I use Comp Cams parts. Other people use other companies, and they all seem to work, too. I guess that means you can pick whichever one you want and you'll be OK.

Even though I always install the cam straight up, I get the mutli-indexed set. Then when I check the cam timing, I can easily adjust it if needed. The cam timing is usually spot on. But once in a while it's off 1-2*.

Comp and Cloyes both make very good timing chain sets.
