Default 12V switched at headlight switch good idea

Wiring in my autometer tach and A pillar gauges...would it be a good idea since they're literally right there to wire in 12v switched power to the headlight switch? I'm pretty sure the buttons light up at night, however since the GT's foglamps are notorious for melting switches im starting to second guess.

grab a source where you can And If I were you I 'd perform the factory mod to the fog lights and wire in a relay so all the switch carries is a small load to trigger a relay
