Mustang 5.0 88-93 LX vs. GT
#3
yeah like he said... not all lx's were 5.0's but all gt's were.
gt's are heavier due to the ground effects, and notchbacks are the lightest of all stangs
obviously a gt vert is the portliest of the bunch, they weigh in almost 3800 lbs with no driver
my notch weighs about 3150 and i have not gutted it at all , still has ac but no smog
every 100 lbs is worth a tenth in the 1/4 mile, or equal to 10 hp, 100 hp will cut over 1 second off your ET get it ?????
my suggestion is get what you like best, you can make up the hp , i used to be a gt guy.. then a vert guy... i like notches by far the best

Yep, 87-88 LX's are the lightest because they have the cheap 4cyl seats like mine. My hatch weighed 3180 stock. It has the cheap seats and manual windows, but power locks and a/c. 89-up have MAF (as does the 88 California cars). 89 is the best trade-off. MAF, with GT style seats without the airbag in the steering wheel.
