I was wondering if anyone on here was running a set of the original cast iron GT40's on an ALL MOTOR 302/306 setup? if so what kind of EFI intake, throttle body and injectors are you using and does it perform well at all? i have a setup i was going to use and go with a S-trim SC,i have a holley systemax intake i was goingto use with it.well now my job has dropped off and i have to hold off on the SC for now,i wanted to use the intake but everone says don't do it cause the car will loose alot of tourqe and power down below3-4000 rpm and i realize that the heads don't match the potential of the intake without the SC so i was just wondering what some of you guys were running with an all motor EFI combo.thanks guys

The systemax Intake is ok. 2500 to 6500 powerband.
I run an Explorer Intake which is internally pretty much the same as the Cobra intake.
My new engine is a 96 Explorer engine with iron GT40 heads that have been ported and milled .020 to bump the compression a little bit. It has a Trick Flow stage 1 cam as well. Ran strong in the car that it came out of, but it was carbureted. I haven't got it in my car yet with the EFI.

i ran my car with a 70mm TB, CAI, UDP's, equal length shorties, O/R X-pipe, and mac catback, with an otherwise STOCK motor.. and made 253rwhp with no tuning what so ever. 276 after tuning. the car ran 14.01 with 3.08 gears on street tires.

My mods: rebuilt 306- GT-40 heads(off a 93 Cobra), 94-95 Cobra intake, 19lb injectors, 60mm TB, stock cam, full exhaust, K&N, 16* timing. The car runs well and pulls nicely to 6000rpm. But torque below 2500rpm is pretty scarce, especially with my stock 3.08's. However, my $600 heads/intake dropped my 1/8th time from a 9.77@71 to a 9.41@76( both w/crappy 2.3 60ft's). Adder, what did you trap in the 1/8th? 79mph?

the stock injectors and maf will work fine. A friend of mine is running that with a little more cam, ported exhaust runners, 3.73s and a wet shot. Runs 8.30s on Nitto tires.
