Don't forget machine work, cam, seals and gaskets, and miscellaneous things that always pop up during a rebuild and he would be over budget.

If it were me, I'd stick with a stock rebuild and a nice H/C/I.
$1700 for my shortblock
$650 for my heads
$370 for my intake
$400 for my cam
$50 for my injectors

seems fairly close to me....

Is that for new or used parts? Whatever I do buy I want it all to be brand new stuff.

I figured the shortblock and cam were new, but what intake did you get new for $370?
That was a heck of a deal on injectors and heads. I thought I did good paying 70 for my 24lb Ford injectors used lol.
Either way they are still used parts. HE won't be building a stroker for 3500..

If im dropping this amount of coin on parts then the stuff is going to be new. It's just how I think. Its like buying a used engagement ring for a woman. most of them wouldn't like that. They want new stuff from jareds

DO NOT put a 351W in an SN95

been there, spent WAY tooo much money on that.

to the OP, learn how to shop smarter and a healthy 331 an be done for around $3500.

BTW, my 357W cost me about $8000.
Shouldn't the 351W just been a swap in and out? I know there's hardly any difference between the 302 and 351. What problems did you encounter? I would like to do this swap (with a used 351W) and would like to know what I have in store for me. 8K sure seems like a lot of $$$ unless you tried to go forged and complete top end too and even then that's still ridiculous.

351w swap requires new accessory brackets, new oil pan and pickup tube, new intake manifold, new (or modified) fuel rails, usually a taller hood, new harmonic balancer, new flywheel(or flexplate)

it is by no means, a straight swap

Ahh, well that explains the complications. I think I may have to pass on that as well then too. Thanks for the input!
