is that the block or gasket material?

did you toruqe the heads in the proper sequence?

such as 40lb 60lb 75lb etc and in the proper order?


whats the plan now? and get some better pictures please

looks like head gasket material. where is the spacer deals that go into the block that keep the head gasket lined up?

^Those are called dowl pins. How in the world did that happen? Why would the thread end after all the time and money you have put into this? A 302 short block isn't that expensive.

its gasket material and I took out the dowel pins when I removed the heads.

My buddy has a 1990 bare stock block. I might end up using that. But then it gets me thinking...If im going to buy internals, why not get a stroker kit? but that would mean i'd have to get better heads, cam, and intake to be happy. so much to think about...idk

Oh that straight up eats it. What the deuce caused that? Over torquing the head bolts? Cross-threading? Did you knock it around while it was out of the car or putting it back in or anything? Ugh...I just finished my build and I was bummed I had a valve that was too tight and had to pull the plenum to adjust it. I'm done complaining after seeing that...
