After market part advice.
I did not know which section to put this in so i put it here. If its in the wrong section my apologies.
So this is my mustang.
https://mustangforums.com/forum/new-...ml#post6704140
It is mostly stock. the only aftermarket performance parts it has is a filter charger. if you can call that performance. hahaha Anyways, my father was big on muscle cars. he has owned almost every classic muscle car out there. the problem is he doesn't know much about newer muscle cars.
So what i am asking is if you guys could provide me with a list of performance parts for everything for my car. From racing brakes to engine modifications to suspension. I could do a simple google but Im hoping that this thread can help me grow a list of mods I could do to my car.
My main goal is to make it into a classic muscle car as much as possible, I don't want it to end up looking like an import. No offense to imports, I like them myself I just prefer the classic American muscle. Maybe If some of you guys know about a certain body kit that would help it look more like a classic that would be awesome.
if you could provide links to sites that sells them, or at least point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
I plan on getting somethings as it is:
Normal size tires in the back, and low profile tires in the front. To give it a slight tilt.
i was thinking about a turbo charger?
Headers.
Performance chip.
Cold air intake.
shift kit.
I know there are a TON more engine modifications that i just don't know about.
thank you for your time!

The first thing you need to do is lose the Cobra badges if you have not already. The first thing I would think about doing is swapping to a 5 speed but if you don't want to to that then get a set of 4.10 gears to throw in the rear end. If you also want to keep the auto in it you should get a nice shift kit and a stall converter installed. Those 3 things will wake the car up that car a lot. I wouldn't waste the money on a body kit yet. It looks like you already have enough cosmetic work do to right now. What are your plans for the car itself? DD, strip, road course??
Anyway
Full exhaust (headers, midpipe, mufflers and tips)
Gears and rebuild the trac loc (4.10's if you stay auto)
Shift kit and stall converter
Cold air (not exactly needed because our cars basically are a CAI already)
Lower Rear Control arms
Springs (looks like you might have a set already)
Good site for automatics and making them perform

Keep in mind you are in Cali so your mods must be able to pass all the stupid regulations that you have in that state.

For the trans work visit the sight I told you and do some reading there and talk to Silverfox.

As for the rest of the stuff it kinda depends on how much you want to put into the car. The suspension stuff depends on what you want for the car. Are you ever going to take it to the strip or do you just want great road handling?
For the exhaust I recommend either BBK or FRPP headers. MAC is also another brand you will see out there but the header flange is not one piece so after they are used and removed they can be a pain to line back up sometimes. When it comes to mufflers most people what a set because of how they sound. Keep in mide H-pipes have a deeper tone than X-pipes. Do some listening.

I am not about to get into the motor in this convo because you need to do some research yourself. There are many, many combonations out there that can be done and alot depends on your budget and what you want from the car. Please don't just go post what H/C/I do you recommend or ask is a E cam a good cam. Use the search function and read along with what others have asked on here and enjoy.

$1800.
Thats why Im posting here. Because this place IS my research. i will be trying my best but Im guessing a mustang forum is the best place to get advice for a mustang engine. I want the suspension tuned for good road handling. I dont really care about budget (although i dont have money right now hahaha) I want to build a list of things that i can slowly check off.
So will this setup make it quick?
--------------
headers
turbo charger
4.10 (or whatever would be best) rear end gears
shift kit
performance chip (to add just a lil hp and a lil mpg)
----------
Also would a stall converter be worth the money (for someone who wont be racing.)
Would you guys recommend sway bars?
I am new to the performance part of cars hahaha

headers... well, they would come with the turbo kit that you purchase... and dont get one off ebay unless its from On3Performance or BoostBrothers
shift kit is a must
and performance chip... if you are talking about a mail order chip, or one of the ebay specials... i swear to god, i will hunt you down and shove a rusted spoon up your nose!
