302 block doesn't have id numbers by the starter
I am considering buying this motor if it runs good but, it doesn't have the id numbers on it. It has a flat tappet cam in it now but, he believes it is a roller block. Is he correct?

alright, we think we got it figured out. He said that there isn't any id numbers in the lifter valley either but, we found a place for a dipstick on the driver's side so, we think it is a roller motor (like he said he thought it was in the first place) even though it has a 302 cam in it. The engine was a dirt track motor, turns up real quick, and can see a lot of rpm so, i thought it maybe some kind of marine block or something I have never heard of.
Anyway, after 7 years of owning the 4cly auto car he is actually going to get to drive it in the next week or so. I am pretty ****ty for wanting the motor already (even though I could have bought it for nothing when I didn't need a motor) and have about got to the point to where I don't want to see it come out of the car. His car is set-up way better than mine and has potential to run 8.0s on the motor with the ford irons on it while being driven to the track.
