chrome wheels flaking....Paint em Black????/
i have a black 89 coupe and i was thinking about "murdering it out"...everything black.....i already started with the tail lights. the tint is next....and since the the chrome wheels are flaking, i was thinking of painting them. Im a body tech so the painting part is not a problem. i was wondering if it would look good...black on black. or maybe a chrome lip. any opinions???

Like adder said, you will want them media blasted. or something to have all the chrome removed.
And i would have them powder coated rather then paint, then you won't have to worry about them getting chips and such.

Depending on the color of the vehicle, I think that black wheels make a car look cheap. I saw a set on a white car with tinted windows and it looked great. I agree with Hollister, powdercoating is the way to go. I used to work for Keystone, and they did it. They would accept rims as cores and rebuild them.

I think "murdering" out cars is terrible looking.. leave to ricers or Rob Dyrdek...I actually liked his flat black escalade with black rims/tint.
If you media blast those rims make sure you don't use somthing too abrasive or that nice smooth aluminum wheel will have more dimples than a fat white girl's ***.
