While the GT40P's are easier to find, the GT40's were only on Explorers in '95 & '96.

Maybe they're abundant where you live, but the little sh*thole town I live in makes it more difficult to find when you only have 2 years to look for....

ruined my fair share of those working at Toyota. stole a few sets though, all the cars were parked out back and after hours we would work on our cars and swap the heads off the exploders and put E7's on. we got pretty good at it too sold a few sets and 2 manifolds for some $$$$, not bad for a few hours elbow grease. and i got rid of the 2 sets of E7's and 1 pair of D9 heads that i had taking up space in my basement.

hey, it paid for Fox Lake to do my TFS heads, im not gonna complain.

bring a wire brush and just put some work into taking the rattle can off.
CFC was not 100% bad, there were a lot of cars that really did deserve it, but at the same time, there were even more that didnt deserve it. i saw a sweet convertible trunk in NEAR MINT condition go down. it only had like 50k on it too, it was like an 88!
and then something like 70% of cars BOUGHT with cfc were FOREIGN! there needed to be a clause that only American cars qualified

I think destroying the engines in the cars should not of been done. A lot of people that can't afford new cars could of could of used some of those cars or parts to fix theirs.

I blew up a number of cars for that program back when it was running, personally I would not use any part the sodium silicate touched. It's nasty stuff, motors can run for a bit with no oil, put a small amount of sodium silicate in and it will seize in seconds. Those videos of guys doing cars that 5 mins + were done incorrectly.

It does take a few minutes to do it correctly,. you are suposed to drain the oil, put a couple quarts of oil in along with the sodium silicate. it will run for a few minutes and just slowly lock up. it more damaging to the internals that way. I forget the exact amount but its a mixture. i only did two vehicles at my small chevy dealership, including a nice 88 firebird formula with 350 tpi, 4wheel disk brakes.. made me sad but oh well. and most junk yards will let you buy parts off the engine including the heads. the law states that you cant sell the motor but you can sell the parts. i bought two sets of vortex heads off of cfc cars for 50 bux a set. they were basicly undamaged, i cleaned them up, installed new valve seals and stuck em on my 96 tahoe. i have the other in the atic. BTW sodium silicate is just bars stop leak.... same exact **** except alot cheaper.
