E-brake broke

So I was havin a crappy day yesterday from the snow and accidentally broke the e-brake on my 93. The e-brake light comes on when the handle is lifted, but there is no resistance. When it broke, I felt like I hyperextended it and something popped. It's not engaged when driving either. Unfortunately I don't have jacks or tools here at school, regardless I'm gunna go look at it again.

What should I be looking for? I feel like it was some fault with the actual hand-brake itself as opposed to the cable snapping.

Thanks for your help guys.

Well look at the obvious. Pull the e-brake and see if the cables get tight or if they sag. If they look "ok" pop off the drums and see if everything is still attached.

k thanks. I just wasn't sure where to start

If there's no resistance it is not the handle's problem. The handle just gives you leverage and a ratchet to hold the lever.

Check the cables for sure. Also check the football shaped pulleys that route the cables 90*. They could have failed.

Something like that happened to me too. I dont know how close fox's are to sn95's, but there is a bracket under your car that holds the two brake cables. The bracket had broken off the welds just enough to not allow me to engage my ebrake. You might want to check that.

The only bracket on foxes is the one that holds those football shaped plastic pulleys.
