that is a oh crap saying, when dealing with timing make sure it is at a certain not an about, 16* isnt to much i assume you remove the spout and set the base then reinstalled the chip and hope to god u didnt do the by the ear trick thats bull**** dosent work, if you have a timing light with a dial, mark your balancer with either black marker or whiteout, on 0* then set accordingly.

i used chalk and then set it to 16. when i first bought the car it was advanced to 14 already and i upped it a little more.
