Need more than a N/A 331 for 500 hp...

You can't run discs with c-clip eliminators. Maybe ask a machine shop to make hardened steel c-clips of it's that much of an issue.

The way the c-clip fits on the end of the axle i dont think you have to worry about it breaking its a free floating clip, and the axle rides the cross pin and carrier gear keeping the clip in place, most of the time the axles i have seen wrung off behind the wheel or at the splines i dont see your worry????

The priss pinion only holds the axle from being pushed into the carrier. The c clip stops it from being pulled out of the carrier... that's why you can pull the axle out by removing the c clip.

Put on dyno and you will be disappointed but will have the correct numbers. Post the dyno sheet. Not overated speculation. Bubba

I've never had a C-clip break. The eliminators are so the axle doesnt come out of the housing in the event of a break. I don't think the C-clip itself is a strength issue of any sort, its the axle.

correct, I am with them.
To the OP
A lot of breaking a axle is also hooking if it don't hook real good you will be OK for a while and it really don't take much HP to break a stock axle I have seen it done with a lot less then 500 hp. Hell I have seen it done with a stock car and a set of slicks dumping the clutch at 5000 RPM. With that being said, says you run a auto and I have seen cars run tens with stock axles and a auto. I am not talking of leaving off a trans. brake here. Take it to the track and see what it runs. the rules are there for a reason if it runs fast enough for good axles then you should be doing it. or if you run slicks and a stick you really should be thinking about it.
