I remember my friend bought a 95GT and thats how I got into Mustangs, than the whole foxbody love just grew from that. And than I got sucked back in a few weeks ago. I was completely done w cars for about 2 years and than last week I got a job at a shop. Well that just triggered the motorhead w/in me lol And it just so happens that 2 guys at the shop both own and religiously work on 5.0's. And the owner has a 1200rwhp Supra :/ soooooo yea

I got my first Fox back in high school in 1986. It was a 79 hatch with a 2.8 V-6 and a C-3...not really fast, but still fun. Blew the 2.8 up, dropped in a junkyard 302 and C-4 and fell in love with V-8 power in that light chassis. Bought my first factory 5.0 in 96, drove it 'till it got totalled 10 years later. Pulled the 306 and Tremec out, dropped 'em in a 93 LX and could never get the wiring right, so I bought another 90 GT and did another motor swap. I enjoy having a car that makes 300 RWHP, runs mid 7's in the eigth and still gets 20+ MPG.
....did have a Calypso Blue 93 4 cylinder...but I sold it to buy my Rodlites!

I went looking for a FOX body when I decided to back into drag racing.
I'd raced MOPARS for 25+ years but had an open mind.
I saw that MOPARS were no longer affordable and I even ran the pencil on a couple of Chevy combinations.
Then I ran my magic pencil on a FOX body.
Decided to go that route.
I probably paid too much money for an '85 that was already a racecar and spent a lot just to get that car ok before I blew the engine and built a good new one (trick 351, 8.2 deck)
I'm having my fun with it.....
BTW, 2840# with 190# of me in it, my MOPAR friends all say that they would love to have a car that light......

My older brother got me hooked. He had a 87 4 banger when he was in hight school that was clean as hell. He almost killed himself in it. He overcorrected after almost being ran off the road by an on comming car while he was doing about 100mph (pissed off and late for work) around a long curve and the nose went into a ditch. It summer saulted between a tree and a light pole about 6 times and then rolled another 5 landing in a field. He was thrown from the car crushing 2 of his vertebre. His third fox is what really hooked me though, a 92LX that was supposed to become a Police car but never got the package. It was the dark wild strawberry (almost a burgendy) with black interior. So many memories, races, and country cruises in that car. I almost bought it before I came to Texas and I didn't for some reason. I kick myself every time I think about it.............. I then bought my 83 for $200 and it ended up sitting in my aunts field till I brought it to texas. I had a 89 4 banger for $250 that I drove the hell out of for my first 2 years of hight school then stripped it because I never had a title to it and was driving it illegally claiming it was the 83 by using its paper work. Now I have my current project...........

I think most ppl that grew up in the 80's and 90's will like the fox, it was huge then.
i remember a neighbor having one that had something done to it, He must have been running strait pipes because it was LOUD. he would always haul *** through his yard, throwing huge roster tails of dirt in the air, then peel out onto the street.
I love the boxy look, to me its a "old school" muscle car, but not retarded expensive as the late 60's and early 70's cars.
