Heater Core question.....

ok and where the 2 black circles are,you need to remove those brackets, and then where the green circle is,you can take that bolt out.it holds the metal brace of the dash, and after you remove that, the blower box will come out and sit on the floor.it will give you alot of room to get the heater core out.

also if your car doesn't have tilt wheel, loosen the 4 bolts that hold your steering column up.it makes it easier to take the dash out.and don't be afraid to man handle the dash to get it out.and i had my car gutted in the above pic when i had the car painted.i wish i would have put a heater core in it when i had the dash out the first time.but oh well it gave me something to do for a few hours

Thanks so much for the advice and photo! My car happens to have the tilt steering wheel, does that mean I don't have to loosen the 4 bolts? Also the thing that really scares me at this point, is finding the hoses that were cut, and replacing them...unless I can some how join them together again...

well on your tilt wheel you might not have to loosen the column bolts.but if you do its not that big of a deal.dont take them out just loosen them till the nut is flush with the end of the bolt.

Heater Core question PART 2
Ok, in my previous thread/question regarding my Heater Core, I stated that I thought my Heater Core hoses had been cut. Since I looked at the Mustang Magazine write-up again after lookin at my hoses, I realize that it's NOT my Heater Core hoses that have been snipped, it's something right to the right of the Heater Core fittings/hoses that looks similar. In the picture in the Mustang Magazine, these [mystery to me] hoses or whatever have also been snipped, but have been plugged unlike my open cut ones... what in the world are/were these???

Thanks for your feedback!
