The codes will still be stored in the system. Just becouse the car lacks a MIL the computer still reads the falts and stores them for a shop to retrive with any one of the many means possible. The main funtion of a MIL is simply to say "Hey something is wrong and I want to tell you" I just bought and 87 GT and it had more than it's fair share of stored codes. (Snap-On scanner) telles it like it is.
