Default help/suggestions with 331 build

Well I found a machine shop that will bore over my 302 so i decided its about time to stroke it.
Its going to be a project so im not worried about money at the moment. SO what ive been looking at going with for the rotating assembly is the Scat kit
http://www.rpmmachine.com/ford-302-331-stroker.shtml

3.250" 5.400" Forged 58cc 64cc 70cc
9000 Series Cast I Beam Flat Top 10.4 9.7 8.9

http://www.andersonfordmotorsport.co...emart&Itemid=1
I would like to go with the AFM N-71 Cam
AFM N-71 232/240 .576/.576 110

http://www.airflowresearch.com/index.php?cPath=21_31
AFR 185cc heads

And Edelbrock performer RPM II intake. And eventually supercharge it.

What do you guys think? any suggestions or corrections to the setup?

if ur going to supercharge it get a AFM B-451 or a b-41 cam. there both blower cams but the b-451 is pretty much the same spec as n-71

if you are serious about wanting to supercharge that engine. I would STRONGLY suggest you either pick a better rotating assembly, or run a different piston. The average head will have a 64cc chamber. Ideally you want the smallest chamber available. You will also want to keep your compression ratio close to 8.8-9:1.

The rotating assembly you have selected there shows that you would need a 70cc combustion chamber in the heads to get a 8.9:1 CR. that is not preferable.

FWIW, a build, same cam, and same power adder, with 9:1 CR with 70cc combustion chambers, will make LESS power than the same build, with a 58cc chamber, still at 9:1 CR

did that make any sense?

*edit* just to clear things up a little bit...

you should run this kit IF you choose that company.

Crank: 3.250" 9000 Series Cast
Rods: 5.400 " I Beam
Forged Dish Top Pistons: Bore 4.030 CR: 58cc/9.3 64cc/8.7 70cc/8.1

Part Number: 1-94105-1
Price: $868

TF FAC heads would be PERFECT with the bottom end Adder spec'd out for you...

Ok that helps alot, im a Jet Engine mechanic on B52 bombers not as knowledgeable when building a motor other than making it stock :-P

So if I were to go with a 347 I could use TF heads http://www.trickflow.com/partdetail....1&autoview=sku and the AFM B451 cam with dish tops to reach a compression ratio of 9.0:1?http://www.rpmmachine.com/ford-302-347-stroker.shtml

And about the rotating assembly, I hear scat was a good choice to go with but what would you prefer? I kinda feel like im having you guys build the motor for me but I would much rather know all I need to know so I dont throw all my money away and blow something up haha.

^^^ no those are CNC heads, you want these:
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/TFS-51400015

and just an FYI, a 347 on boost is like holding a hand grenade with the pin pulled... youre right at the limit of the stock block.

you might just want to do a boosted 306 honestly, either a 331 or a 347 is getting into DART territory...

now if money is no object, get a DART block and Eagle neutral balance all forged rotating assembly, get the heads ported, and run 20psi (either a blower or turbo, your decision... )

Well I gotta pull the pin for it to work anyways. I just have to make sure I hold the handle down and throw it
