My buddies got an 88 lx he's working on right now so just thought i'd post up some info about his setup and some pics as they come available.

the motor is a stock rebuild(stock rotating assembly, arp hardware but that's about it for the shortblock). he got a tfs stage 1 cam, gt40 heads with tfs springs, gt40 intake, and crane 1.7 rr's for 550 locally, which i think was a steal for sure. For everything else he's got just a explorer tb, ebay cai with k&n filter, hooker shorties, bbk hpipe/flow 40's. He's got the stock 19lbers for now, think those will need to be upgraded?

the trans is stock except for a previously installed shift kit, so it'll be short lived i'm assuming. the rear is all stock with the exception of 4.10 gears.

For suspension, there's not much, 4cyl springs up front, mac u/l control arms, and sfc's.

He's also planning on staying sd for now, altho i'm not sure how well it's going to handle it.

i'm trying to talk him into ditching the light covers for some new headlights and swapping the wheels. lol.

love of god tell him to get new rims STAT! lol

Stock 19#'s should be fine until the upper rpms... might experiance a little bit of a lean situation with the heads.... If he wants a wideband, i have on for sale
also with the trans may want to consider putting a cooler on to keep the trans cool

thats what i'm sayin! haha. he got factory 10 holes with the car but just doesn't want to switch tires, so i'm guessing he'll just ride on those until his tires get worn out . but I agree, looks like hillybilly trash lol.
