Cobra injectors stock engine?

Im debating to run 24lb/hr Cobra injectors for my stock 5.0L, would it run rich? My plan is to upgrade to better heads/cam in the future but not anytime soon.

Is it a bad idea to do this? If no, then what does this type of swap require new computer? new MAF sensor?

Reason for doing this because my stock injectors be clogged up, spray pattern isn't good and i have a set of Cobra injectors laying around and plan to put on a Systemax II intake very soon.

dont bother running them UNTIL you upgrade the h/c/i

As long as you have a meter they`ll be fine, you can actually run them without the meter it`ll just be rich!

I had 30lbs injectors with a stock 19lb meter and it ran for 1.5 yrs like that! with an adjustable reg you can do alot with fuel!

why do you think there on a production car??? that has no wild h/c/i, if yours are clogged get with it use them and later do your upgrades!

Cool thanks for the advice, i appreciate it.

I might first try see if i can have my stock injectors cleaned out if not probly run the 24lb/hr till i can get a good set.

no don't do that.......you need a maf calibrated for the 24's or it'll run like chit = been there done that

ahh i see thanks, then i will just wait to get have the 19# cleaned up and go from there.

By the way i got a off topic question if you could help, is there way to tell original Cobra intake vs. a Cobra intake from a vendor?

I thought that the new china ones had a ford racing logo on them, where as the oem ones don't??? I MAY BE WRONG....:)

I think your right, i did few searches on Cobra engine pictures and the real Cobra's don't have the Ford Racing plaque on them.

A oem cobra intake runners are in a straight line, an aftermarket cobra is staggered like a gt-40 intake!

FMS-M-9424-Z51 theres your intake proof!!

The stock cobra is just like the stock GT just a little bigger runner!
