gear ratio would help. Do you have a dyno sheet or peak tq number? also street or strip?

what companies are your stalls from. I was thinking of one from PTC 3000 stall for $375. Your running a 5000 on the street?

I use TCT torque converter technologies they are the converter company of dynamic racing transmissions who made my trans. and yes 5000 theres nothing wrong with driving that on the street. I have a basic cooler with no fan mounted in front of my radiator about 3 inchs never gets hotter then 185. Why do you think thats odd? (jw cus i know a lot of people have wrong info on converters)

custom is the only way to go when buying a converter. you have to remember stall speed is based on the amount of hp applied. when daily driving, a high stall converter will drive like a stock converter because your not making huge power when crusing. but when you stomp on it, the surge of power forces the converter to allow the motor to rev up. you can make two identical converters and put them into two different motor and the stall speed would be different because the power of the motors would be different
