Default Should I change Fenders?

I have a 88 gt with 18" wheels on it. When I put them on a few years ago I had to cut away part of the grand effect so I could turn all the way. I've read that the fenders starting in 1991 were different to accommodate a bigger wheel. Now I'm getting ready to put a cervini's stalker/ cobra body kit on it and get it painted. I don't want to cut this body kit if I have to so my question is should I just get a pair of fenders off of a 91 so I don't have this problem?

My advice, the stalker body kit is a waist of money, any body kit is a waist of money. Also, photo's would help so we can see where you already cut.

I tried to load one but when I press the button that says load image it asks for a url. It doesn't say "manage attachments" anywhere on my page

my guess would be its worth it, but what about your tire profile? maybe if you still have clearance on the 91 fenders could you go with a shorter tire? of course that dude doesn't like body kits he has an '83 lol what could you expect? i think that stalker kit looks dope. i want a '00 style cobra r hood with that kit. ultra clear headlights to go with.

I know for a fact that the 91-93 fenders are 3/4" shorter in the front than the 79-90 fenders are which will give you that added clearance that you need.
If you buy the 91-93 fenders you will also need the splash shields because your 88 splash shield won't work.
