Exactly! And if it's wired the way the diagram shows, it's powered up when the key is fired.

Check page 18&19

I believe I will do it this way whenever I go to putting a fan on.

I didn't know how much a really actually helped until I got to messing with them here lately. I would never run a fan without one.

that is exactly how it is wired on page 19.

I don't like how I got it rigged now with it inside the fender upside down. I was in such a hurry to get it running.
I am just now learning to slow down and do it right the fist time.lol

that is exactly how it is wired on page 19.

If you have it wired per instructions, what's the problem? It's not energized until the key is turned on.

His thinking is the box will still have power running to it all the time when hooked straight to the battery like in the pic. Plus I am going to try to run the stock alternator with the fan so, more relays the better.

I'm sure there is some sort of relay wired internally. They would not design it to be "on" all the time

Ahh, so the red wire from the harness would be the one that charges the relay. Good thinking.

Wonder how many amps the box pulls from the battery when running?
