I have been toying with the idea of changing over my 91 conv. to an 86 front end. I really know how i want the car to look in a few years and the 91 front end is not part of the picture. No offense to anyone who likes it, I think it looks good actually, but it's just not what I want.

I wanted an 86 is the first place, but at my folks request (they wanted me to buy no older that '90) i got my 91. They are putting me through college so and such, so i kinda had to stay within those guidelines.

Anyway, I just want to know if there's anyone here who can let me know just how hellish of a nightmare the swap will be. Or has it been done, hopefully with a good write up?

Please post any things i that i'm gonna need to do to accomplish this.

A few that jump out at me: Trim... duh. headlights and wiring help/advice needed badly!! hood, will the 86 hood close on the 91 latch? fitting the bumper cover, i have heard that some fender work will be needed, is this true?

rear bumper cover will need to be swapped to match trim too.

86 5.0L

and the side covers, plus hacking the trim, and I believe drilling holes. OP, its not worth it, save your time and money, finish school and then buy a 4i.
