there assembled shortblocks arent that much more if you cant do it yourself

also with a 5.4 rod, you are probably going to have to notch the block.

You will have to notch the block either way.

The GT kit has an FPS piston. It's 4032 with 5/64 rings and a 5.400 rod.

You can do a 331 with a 5.400 rods and not have the oil ring in the pin hole if you want....but you shouldn't be afraid of that anyway.

Or the 2618 Street Fighter is 959.99.

Jim will either do a 5.400" or 5.315" rod on a 347, your choice same price...

length of the rod wont necessarily dictate that, however and H-beam vs I-beam rod will.

even a 331 with an H-beam will need to notch the skirts, so a 347... durr...

and its a crapshoot with the different length rods on a 347:

5.400" has the pin in the oil ring

5.315" has more side loading and an unfavorable rod/stroke ratio...

yet ANOTHER reason im happier with 16 less cubic inches...
