Default Plug a hole in the firewall

So I finally pulled the defunked security system out of my car which involved cutting a cable that ran to the hood latch.

I;m left with a 1" hole in my firewall that blows hot air on my legs,, anybody got any simple ways to properly plug this hole?

I thought about a rubber plug ,,you know the kind with a wing nut that swells when you tighten it,,, but I though that might be tacky........even if I could find one.

Like you said.. use a wing nut, washers, and a rubber bushings...

If you don't want it tacky looking, get out the welder and paint gun.

agreed! that is the cheap way to do it (tho it wont look great at all!)

Welding is pretty much the only other way, or you could also try body glue, stuff is strong as nails,, and some shops use it to glue 1/4's on! so its proven

either way you will need to do some sanding, filling, and painting to make it look good (besides the way you thought of)

I have purchased an assortment of plugs (like have a lip-fit nice look good). Might have been in the Help section at parts store. Or was it Harbor Freight? Getting old and can only retain so much and have to forget something else. Bubba

Try a couple large fender washers and a fairly short bolt with a 'nylock' bolt.
I had a couple of holes in my firewall on my racer and knew I had to do something about them so that's what I did.
Car passes tech at a fairly strict NHRA track...

Call around and find proper body plug. This other stuff will look like a turd on a wedding cake. Bubba
