to be quite honest i have GT40 SVO aluminum heads ported and polished Explorer upper and lower intake manifolds also ported and polished. and e303 cam and i make really good power with that. 321hp to be exact and it costed me less then 1200 bucks. then other bolt ons are bbk long tube headers 70mm BBK TB and mac Downpipe back 2 3/4 exhaust mac cold air intake and underdrive pulleys. 3.73 gears. i like the setup i have now it has great mid range power and great topend power. the power starts to fade around 5800rpms and starts around 2800 so its perfect for track days launching at 4k and shifting at 5800.

Your build was one that I had in mind. Will I have any potential clearance issues?

And thanks MJR sending one right now

^^^^to give you an idea, I had ED design me up a cam for my 89 vert set up, I bought the small 1.90/1.60 eddy rpm heads from a friend for 400.00, rpm II intake, 24 lb inj, pro-m 75mm maf, accufab 70 mm tb and shorty headers 1 5/8's , all things considered it could be said I used all small parts and I kinda did, it's what I had sitting around, I had ED work his magic on the heads/ he set them up and did some small port work and designed the cam, when it was all said and done with it running off the stock ecm it ran 12.6 in the 1/4. ED can design you a cam to work with your pistons and at the same time make it so the valve events won't cause Ptv issues. It won't be cheap, but gauranteed it'll work, and don't expect to many answers from ED until he knows your a serious customer and not a window shopper

no clearance issues at all. If you read through my thread i basically did a step by step almost. Its A LOT of material but it might be worth breezing through.

the stock valve reliefs on the pistons, yes.

if its an original 82 I believe there flat top pistons, which I do not believe yours will clear ENOUGH, I bet they would clear, but it would be real close like .050 or something, which IMO isn't acceptable.

its not hard to use a dremel to make your own piston valve reliefs.

Well I just rebuilt an 86 motor and it does have flat top pistons. I bet I could make my own but that scares me a little. Lot of work If I go too deep
