Default lucas oil stablizer...

has anyone had a problem with lucas? i recently swapped a 5.0 into my car and it had been sitting for a while and so i changed the oil with 4 quarts of oil and then a quart of lucas... after changing it... i started the car and the oil pressure was low.. the gauge however starts about the 6 oclock position and moves up to about the low mark.. instead of starting about the low marker and moving up to normal.. im not sure if the lucas is too heavy and made the oil pressure low or if the gauge is bad?? anyone else had any problem with lucas??

it was the stock gauge in my car when i had the 4 cylinder in it.. it worked fine with the 4 cylinder car.. when i swapped the 5.0 in to it the gauge seems to start at about the 6 oclock position and move up to the low mark.. im not sure if its actually low or if it may be bad from a voltage spike? but when i start it up it knocks a little until it runs for a minute or two and builds up a little pressure.. im planning on starting and lettting it run for an hour and get good and hot and then draining all the oil and lucas back out and just putting 5 quarts of oil back in and see what happens..

+1 for lucas being good and never having a problem. try putting an aftermarket mechanical gauge on it also.

put a mech guage on that's the only way you'll know. if it's good then it's the sending unit or there is a voltage reg in the dash.mine goes from the middle to the top. i just pulled the needle off and moved it down, now it's perfect.if you used the 4 cyl sending unit, there might be a diffrence in oil pressure between the engines????
