Wing options for 87 LX Convertible
I'm repainting my 87 Conv. and it had a junk luggage rack. A few years ago I bought a wing for a 96 taurus I had and ended up never using it. I'm toying around with the idea of mounting it to the relatively flat LX trunk lid. Pretty sure it would be the only one around like it 
Anyway, it looks like it will be a fair amount of work to reshape the curved mounting surfaces of the Taurus spoiler to be able to mount it on a flat lid. Then, in my most recent 5.0 Mustang magazine I found a website called NewTakeOff.com and they have have new 2005-2009 rear spoilers for 99 bucks!
My question is, since I'm already prepared to modify my Taurus spoiler, modifying the 05-09 one would be no problem either, BUT, what about the width of those mounting perches? Anybody have one they could measure and give me the outside dimensions so I can see if they will fit on my 87 lid?
Any other things I should be concerned about? The Taurus spoiler curves up and over the 3rd brake light so that is not an issue, but will the 05-09? Maybe a measurement on the height off the deck would be nice too!

Sorry... but I think you will be really unhappy with how it turns out.. it is going to look like ****... but whatever you want...
Nothing is as clean/nice looking IMO than a flat smooth trunk lid on a vert.
Hatchback is a diff story.. I have a GT wing on my LX.

Maybe I can post a couple with the Taurus wing dummied up on the lid.........
