stock aod's are tricky to launch, hook too hard and you'll bog... a little too much and break loose too bad.

i found it best to break loose just enuff to get the r's up.

if you plan on keeping that trans for a year or so... DON'T do the shuffle, and DON't raise tv pressure either

if you don't care... you can pick up minimal 2 tenths by those. if your not familiar with the tv pressure... just pop it off from tb and score the white square rod as a ref point. pop the white shim and the spring will suck the assy in...... move it back about 1/4" from the score mark and push the shim back, then stick it back in the tb. you'll see very noticible improved shifts, and in d shift points will be higher too.

then do the shuffle to hold 1 and 2, start in 1, shift to d for 2... a few hundred rpm go back to 1... to hold 2... then when you want 3... go back to d.

again.. this works ok.... but will excess wear the trans since some intermediate clutches will engage when they shouldnt be.

then... for final best or so... ice it down really good, push it all the way up the line, and pull the belt completely.

good luck !!
