Default WC T5 or 3550?

I have been debating for a while on my transmission choice. I am building a 10.0:1 306 with 185 heads, .542 cam, and RPM Air Gap intake. My question is: Will a WC T5 hold it reliably, or should I upgrade to a 3550/TKO or some type of variant? Any insight is appreciated.

a t-5 will hold it fine if you don't do 5500+ rpm launches

God's way of telling you that: You have way too much money. Spend it how you like.

if running a slick and a clutch that will grab, I don't think you will be to happy with a t-5. With tires that will spin a bit off the line, you really don't have to worry about it. Power shifting into third with a lot of torque behind it may still cause some problems though.

I know a guy that busted third with a promotion transmission this last weekend. It was an 8.30 car. It really should have been a 7.0 car but, he went with the wrong cam.

i hope your talking 1\8th mile cus no way in hell could he mess up a cam that bad that it would take a car capable of 7.0 in the 1/4 and make it an 8.30

yeah I am. It is a tuned 347 with a nitrous cam with a 116 lobe separation. On the motor, you could drop that thing out of an airplane and it wouldn't have a decent et.

you drive good by the way. I wonder if you did put a set of slicks on that green vert if the times would be any better.
