Default Idiot put a hole in my floor board...

Well I just bought this car about a month ago from my neighboor. When he jacked it up he didn't use the frame. He used the floorboard...What an idiot. Now im stuck here with a hole under my drivers seat. Can you weld on this metal? what should I do?

That can be welded, but do it carefully.

i'd go to a reputable body shop and see what they say. they might want you to do a bigger patch because of the thinness of the metal, rivet it in a put a very thin tach weld bead around the edge.

I had the same thing when I owned my 83 gt but it was from body flex. I was told by someone that fox body cars were notorious for cracks in the floor boards. That is why subframe connectors are highly recommended. Dont know if what I was told was true but I had cracks in the floorboard behind drivers seat. I just cleaned the metal real well and welded the cracks with a mig. I did not have any issues after but my floorboards were not rotted. Jacks usually dont create cracks like that. In my experience they usually bend in the metal parts.Looks like it has been like this for awhile. If you have never welded before take it to a body shop.
