Default What kind of oil is good?

I have a 83 Mustang Gt, it is mostly stock besides a few bolt-ons. I live in Montana, but spend a lot of time in Cali. I'm just not sure what a good brand and type of oil would be good for my engine as well as a good filter. Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Do a search on motor oil. You'll find 2-3 hours worth of reading that will answer all your questions.

Vegetable oil is good.

Just get Mobile 1 Full Synthetic and Mobile 1 Filter and call it a day. All I run is Mobile 1 in all my cars, including both of FI cars. I've never had any issues and the oil doesn't coke up on turbocharged applications.

except this is a 1983 gt, if it was a brand new motor, hell yeah synthetic all the way, on a beat 5.0 with leaky seals, and worn rings, 10w-30 is fine, maybe even 10w-40 depending where you are
