Is it possible to eliminate an EGR valve without having negative effects??

no, removing the EGR will cause a loss in fuel mileage, and without disabling it in the ECM , will also cause idle surging at start up

What kind of loss in fuel mileage are we talking bout? I can easily get a performance chip to overcome the idle surge.

then why remove it?
creating problems and then applying a band fix is not a good idea...

I'm adding a performance chip anyway. Why wouldn't anyone want to add one when gaining an additional 50 HP and better performance?

Yes, that is what the ad said.
I just finished a total rebuild. Planning to drop the motor back in tomorrow.
0.60 over, trick flow cam and lifters, edelbrock heads and intake, waiting on a 76mm throttle body, cold air intake, headers, x-pipe, and flowmaster cat backs.
