I think you've misunderstood the interpretation of what the "tech section" is for, so listen up cause I will only explain it once, the tech section is for problems you are having associated with the drivibility, performace related problems, noises that should not exist and or anything that requires wrenching on it to fix a problem/troubleshoot a problem, also included in the scope are tech advice on installing or how to's for performance mods......Anything other than such is why the GENERAL DISCUSSION section exists, anything other than such in the 5.0 techsection and I will be moving it to the appropriate section....Thank you for your cooperation.

idk why people get so bent outta shape about their threads gettin moved?? sheesh. p.s. my buddies 93 notch, 302 with bolt ons (pulleys, cold air intake, shorty headers, and a shifter) and 3.73's went 13.9 last time we were at the track..so yea, if your car is running right/you can drive it, 16.3 is not even close to right

get a driver mod. My guess is it will be the best thing you've ever done for the car

i didnt read anything after the first page.

but im guessing your 60 foot time was about 2.5

your car is probably capable of 12.60-13.00 at about 105-108 mph

the numbers on your timeslip mean everything, mph is the indicator of "real" hp and 60 foot is the ability to get it to the ground

the rule of thumb is that every tenth of sixty, is worth 2 tenths on the big end. so cut .5 60', and you drop a second ET

most likely you need sticky tires and maybe some hpm mega bite jr lca's

imo also 4.10's.....but it's not worth a single gearset swap

post up those numbers.

and fyi...... in some of my cars that were all stock.....

'90 gt aod = 14.40
'90 lx 'vert aod = 15.10
'89 5-sp notch with just 4.10's and mickeys = 13.60

my 60ft was like 2.4 to 2.6. i think i was just a little nervis with it bein my first time on the track. i think i was over reving the car in every gear. it does have a cam in it but i dont know what the specs are on it but i know its not very big at all and i dont think it a high rpm cam at all i belive me shifting at 6000 to 6200 rpms really killed my times i think i should be shifting at about 5200 to 5500. what do u think could over reving the car cause this much of a time differance?

If you felt the car run out of power, yes you were over shifting it. If it was still pulling hard, no you didn't.

Id come out of the whole around 3500 if you can, Ive also had good luck in my T5 car coming out at 2600ish and feathering the clutch.

i like my light to go on at 5200, by the time i react and actually complete the shift i'm hitting it about 5500. but whatever the rpm is.... with a 5200 chip in the light... i get the fastest et's

6k is def over revving it, and 2.5 60 foot is horrible.

those 2 things are the problem fo sho
