302 to 347 stroker

Default 302 to 347 stroker

going to build a 347 stroker and want about 350-400hp range wondering if the stock block will be able to hold that much hp or will i need a better block

Yeah. And you can get that at the crank from a 302, and use the stock crankshaft. It'll save you money that way. If you're talking rwhp then yeah, 347 would be easier.

do u know wats the most hp a stock 347 block will hold . with no poweradder

Using a stroker you can make that at a lower RPM than you can with a 302....relieving stress on the block.

you can blow one at 300, 400, or 500 or more, it's more so in how well it it built, ie..parts used. knowledge of the machinest and how well he pays attention to detail and finally how well it's tuned

+1, its also luck of the draw. some blocks just hold better then others. 500rwhp is about the max you want to run with a stock block. a well built 347 can make 500 hp at the crank which would be perfect because thatll be about 440rwhp-ish
